Effects Of Dementia

The Debilitating Effects Of Dementia

My dad suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia so I thought this small list could help those of you who know someone or perhaps a close relative has the signs.                 We all know someone who has dementia or the on set of it. Here are a few symptoms

They have fears and they might be starting to experience some of these signs:

They don’t remember who anyone is
They don’t recognize where they are
They don’t know where they live
They may think people are lying to them
They may start to accuse you and believe people are stealing from them.
The might even start to think that they lost their loved ones.

Why they feel this way?
They could have paranoia symptoms
They are forgetful
They can be disoriented
Or perhaps they aren’t sleeping well.

These behaviors are an indication that the person is in a mild to moderate stage of dementia

The Silent Disease

The Silent Disease....will surprise you

It is called the “silent disease” and most commonly associated with menopausal women.
Women are diagnosed with low bone density or osteoporosis.

But, the disease doesn’t only attack women- one in four men older than 50 will break a bone due
to osteoporosis. This is a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of
 bone tissue.

Getting enough of vitamin D naturally or by supplement form plus diet will help.
Oily fish, and fortified milk are the way to go.
Weight bearing exercise such as walking, climbing stairs, and jogging will help build and maintain
strong bones and slow bone loss.

What Is Tonsillitis?

 What Is Tonsillitis?
Tonsillitis is a inflammation of the tonsils caused by bacteria or a virus. When this happens the tonsils
at the back of the tongue as well as the tissues at the top of the ”adenoids” become enlarged and when
enlarged it is usually a infection.

The symptoms are chills, and a high fever the swollen tonsils ache the throat can be sore and it may be
 difficult and or painful swallowing.

There are herbal lozenges with essential oils- especially peppermint, menthol, eucalyptus, and lemon
that can help soothe and numb the pain when swallowing.
These essential oils are also anti-inflammatory and are antibacterial.

What Is Edema?

 What Is Edema?

The human heart pumps about 5 quarts of blood per minute, circulating oxygen, water, and nutrients
into the capillaries. The blood floods the vessel walls to reach all the bodies tissues.
When circulation is poor, fluid will build up in the tissues which is the condition called “edema”.
The cause of edema can be a blocked flow of blood, an injury to the lymphatic or blood vessels,
surgery, or trauma to the blood vessels.

Circulatory or kidney disease, tumors, and metabolic disorders all can hinder blood flow and
cause edema. One of the most common causes of edema is cardiac insufficiency which is a
condition in which the heart muscle is unable to pump or receive enough amounts of blood
as a result fluid builds up in the tissues and causes edema.

There are natural medicinal plants that are diuretics and can be taken to promote drainage of
 the tissues.
Horsetail, goldenrod, dandelion and parsley are all excellent herbs and can be taken in tea or
tincture form, which is stronger since it is concentrated.
