Fighting Wrinkles?

Fighting wrinkles as we age is no fun, the effects from stress, worry, and the sun has taken its toll on us all. But besides those face creams that promise some kind of "magic" in those tubes or jars....research has found that you can actually help keep slow down the process of wrinkles with "protein".

That's right protein!  I wrote more about it on this site, so if interested check it out at

Trouble Seeing? Is It Cataracts?

What is the common cause of low vision? Cataracts! Your eyes work like a camera, with light that flows through your
lens onto the retina, a layer of light sensitive cells at the back of the eye. Very similar to a photograph film, the retina
allows the image to be “seen” by the brain.

But over time the lens of our eyes can become cloudy and can prevent light from passing clearly through the lens of
the eyes. The loss of clearness may be so mild that the vision is barely noticed or it can be so severe that no shapes
or movements are seen only light or dark.

So when the eye lens becomes cloudy enough to obstruct the vision to any degree it is called a “cataract”. Eye glasses
or contact lenses can correct this condition slightly but it cannot sharpen your vision if a severe cataract is present.
Cataracts usually develop slowly and progress, causing gradual and painless decrease in vision. You may experience
blurry vision, frequent changes in your prescriptions, even a decrease in color vibrancy and in rare cases double vision.
Cataract surgery is a very successful operation and it has a 95% success rate.

Effects Of Grief

Every part of your health and behavior is affected by grief. Those that are grieving are suffering with
insomnia, loss of appetite, energy, and a general sense of apathy.
Grief can affect your nervous system causing shortness of breath, headaches, muscle spasms,
stomach or chest pain, rapid heartbeat and other symptoms. Grief is usually associated with the
death of a loved one, but the emotion could come from disappointments over health, relationships,
 or even career.
While there is no quick cure that will help heal a broken heart, herbs, aromatherapy, relaxation
methods, and other natural remedies can help during the difficult mourning process.
Seeking help can also give you support in dealing with the grief, but keep in mind that emotion
is part of a necessary process that we all must experience and go through before we start to heal.

Remedies For Diabetes

Diabetes is usually a hereditary disease and chances are that someone you know has diabetes- there are over five million Americans that have this disease and are being treated for it. Diabetes happens when your body does not produce or use insulin, the hormone that helps move consumed sugars out of the blood and into the cells.

An excess of glucose “sugar” in the blood and urine are due to the body’s inability to absorb glucose normally, because of a result of insufficient amount of insulin being produced by the pancreas. The inability to absorb and store the glucose causes it to accumulate in the blood in large amounts that can over flow into the urine.

Frequent urination is due to the abnormal amount of urine being produced to allow the excess glucose that the kidneys need to filter out of the blood. Chronic thirst, excessive hunger, or weight loss are just some symptoms. This occurs because the body is unable to use the glucose so the body then uses fat and proteins as a source of energy. If this condition goes untreated the large amount of sugar can lead to a coma or death.

There are two types of diabetes- Mellitus: Type 1 or juvenile diabetes which occurs during childhood. Type 2 adult- diabetes, can usually happen after 40 years of age. With type 1 diabetes, treatment is a careful diet and insulin injections.  With Type 2 diabetes successful efforts can be made when controlled by diet, exercise, and natural remedies. Control is essential to avoid any other issues.

It is important to maintain your weight and get exercise. Limit your intake of rolls, pasta, bread, potatoes, and sweets. Decide to eat instead fresh vegetables, proteins, beans, and nuts. Exercise will help keep your metabolism working because excess sugars in the blood can cause damage to the blood vessels. It is important for diabetics to keep their circulation healthy; the reason is so that enough oxygen can be supplied to the organs. This will prevent problems such as kidney failure, blindness, or circulatory disease.

There are natural remedies that can help and control many diseases. Blueberries, Stevia, Cinnamon, turmeric are just a few. You can eat, drink, or take a capsule with some of these herbal remedies.

Feeling Stressed?

Stressful situations occur in our life on a daily basis. Situations where people may feel
irritated, anxious or even threatened will then create a reaction which occurs, and sets our emotions into action. Numerous people become stressed when they are involved in conflicts, or worried about problems, or are even pushed for time.

The body understands these pressures as a threat to life. What happens next is the pituitary gland signals the adrenal glands to release adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol hormones that get the body ready to fight or flee. The muscles start to tense, your heart beat and alertness increases and, blood pressure heightens.

Although these effects allow the body to react quickly when faced with real danger, if your body is in a constant state of stress it will start to lose the ability for defense. Lack of sleep and experiencing excessive noise will make dealing with stress more difficult. Eventually over time illness will occur including heart disease, ulcers, headaches and other countless symptoms will develop along with mental burnout.

Stress doesn’t have to be negative, a certain amount of stress is necessary for us to lead a productive and interesting life. Stress can push us to achieve and this is a good stress. The good stress is called “eustress” which means Good in Greek.  It stimulates the mind and body.  The bad stress produces tension, anxiety and hurts the body and can causes illness.
Fortunately, there are herbal remedies, relaxation methods and water therapies that can help reduce many different types of stress.

High Blood Pressure

There is nearly one out of every three adults who have hypertension worldwide- which is known as the “silent killer”. High blood pressure can affect people of all shapes, sizes, and age.  High blood pressure occurs when the smallest arteries also known as “arterioles” constrict, causing the heart to pump harder in order to distribute the blood throughout the body. Since the heart is a muscle- the harder it works the bigger it gets; what can happen is an enlarged heart.

Pressure against the walls of the arteries occurs when the heart contracts (systolic) pressure, and when the heart relaxes between beats (diastolic) pressure.  The pumping of the heart and how well it works circulating the blood throughout the body can be affected by many factors, health, heart muscle, and elasticity of the artery walls.
Stress, alcohol, nicotine, drugs and weight often lead to heart disease. Blood pressure can fluctuate but a normal range is 120/80. When the hearts systolic reaches 140 and the diastolic exceed 90- disease is present. Left untreated it can cause –strokes, heart attacks, and kidney failure. Controlling blood pressure can cut your stroke to 30-40%, and heart attacks 20-25%.

A stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is blocked due to a blood clot. A heart attack occurs when blood supply to the heart muscle is blocked.
There are methods that can be taken to control your blood pressure by diet, exercise, life style and natural remedies. Reduce your stress the best way you can, try yoga, aerobic exercises, walking, and hiking. Avoid smoking completely and lose weight. Just these few methods will enable you be able to control or prevent high blood pressure.

Diet is important and you need to watch your cholesterol levels which if they are high, can put you at risk of cardiovascular disease. Cut back on red meat, eggs, salt, and foods high in fats. Be watchful of caffeine and alcohol they constrict the blood vessels so take these in moderation. Easting fish is recommended because it has unsaturated fatty acids that can have the effect of lowering blood pressure. By just losing 10 pounds you can lower your blood pressure.

Making Extra Cash

We all want to make extra cash...and it is hard to find online sites that are legitimate but I came across a site that might be. Now I haven't looked into it but it claims that you rate products. How hard can that be right? Well, if its real not very much.

It is a consumer test panel and you can register to sign up and earn extra cash by trying out all different products.

Just do a online search for" consumer testing"...you fill out a questionnaire  to see if you are right for that product.

If anyone does try it...please let me know how it is so we can pass it on.

Another site...www.clickworker.com
This site is for completing small tasks

Gay Marriage

Illinois is another state that will allow gay marriage and this is the milestone for many gay rights activists and their long fight for equal rights.

I personally believe that all people no matter whether they are man or woman, black, white, Asian, or whatever their religion should have equal rights.

So it is showing that as people we are slowly starting to put our fears aside and opening our closed minds to accepting people for who they are. I am happy for them all.

After all...love is love....it has no boundaries for color, race, or sex.

The Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act takes affect soon and couples unions will be legally accepted.
